Introducing Me

Hi Team Yellow!

I'm Sheila.  I'm 37 (for a few more weeks...), have a 13 year old daughter, 2 step daughters who are 6 and 8, and a great guy to share my life with.  I work full time in marketing, and it seems as though I'm always running around doing something.

I am fat.  I am tired of being fat.  Three years ago, I had great success with Weight Watchers, and I worked out nearly every day.  I lost 30 pounds doing it, and I felt and looked great.  I've gained all that weight back, and I'm disgusted with myself for doing so.  I feel gross, FAT, unattractive, and unlovable.

I found The Sisterhood of The Shrinking Jeans a few months ago, and loved it right away.  I was motivated and super positive about being able to lose this weight.  Over the past two weeks or so, I've really fallen off the wagon.  I've lost my motivation, gained back 2 of the 4 pounds that I'd lost, and I've hit the point where I've started thinking "I will always be fat, and there's just no use trying".  This is a BAD place to be!  I know that all I need is a bit of motivation and a few good days of eating right and exercising to get back into the swing of things, and I am looking forward to the support, encouragement, advice and a**-kicking that a team can provide.

Today, I had a brownie for breakfast.  Tomorrow at 7pm, I start Weight Watchers again.

I know I can do this, but I need your help.  I know YOU can do it too, and I'm here to help you!

Here's to Team Yellow!

  1. Brownie for breakfast is sincerely BETTER than NO breakfast at all. KNOW THIS... LIVE THIS!

    Eat something.

I love sweet for breakfast and I could/would eat brownies every single day ... but that wouldn't help me get rid of the JELLO like wiggle I have (don't mind a good wiggle - wiggle is good it is feminine but JELLO why, that is just nasty). I hate Jello.

Anyway ... I try to eat something SWEET for breakfast that isn't a brownie. You should eat within 1 hour of waking. ONE HOUR. This keeps up your metabolism.

    I am addicted to bananas!

I eat a banana nearly every day.

My new thing is banana, ice, frozen or fresh blueberries ... or any fresh/frozen fruit in my magic bullet - some water (need the water to thin it out).

    When I'm out of banana's ... I'm lost.

And I'm out for tomorrow. I'm already cranky thinking about what I can eat for breakfast.

If you don't like bananas ... try pineapples; mangos; blueberries; strawberries (you need something else sweet with this b/c they aren't necesarilly sweet enough...add some agave nectar - just a little goes a LONG way).

It doesn't take long and I use the cups that come with the bullet ... tada ... breakfast is served.

  3. I make a great breakfast concoction, I must credit my BFF who's a personal trainer/yoga instructor/size 0

1 scoop Fat free yogurt (I use a combo of plain and vanilla/Dannon light and fit)

    1 scoop lowfat cottage cheese

    1/2 sliced banana

    2 tbsp chopped walnuts

    1 tbsp of ground flax

Sounds like alot but it's easy to prepare if you pre-chop your nuts and buy the already ground flax, etc.

It tastes like banana nut bread in a creamy bowl of love, I get most food groups out of it and feel good all day, I did this a month or so ago every day and lost 4 lbs, gained back when I stopped :( starting this week again

  5. Hey Jen ... try the 0% or 2% fage - a bit more expensive but MUCH healthier.

I prefer the 2%. It is pricey but so so much better tasting and much more satisfying and less carbs. This is unsweetened .. if eating without banana - use a touch of agave nectar to sweeten (a drop will do you). Agave is low glycemic index.

Dannon has lots of sugar and/or artifical sweetners - you probably do not need the extra sugar with the banana b/c they are so naturally sweet.
